Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an APP for Tanner Health’s General Cardiology service based in the Clinic with a Congestive Heart failure focus. The APP will join a multi-provider team of physicians and other APP’s who report to the Executive Director at Tanner Heart and Vascular Specialist. Additionally, this position will provide 1 weekend of inpatient service every 4th week. There will be two days off during the week the inpatient service is provided. Tanner Heart and Vascular Specialist is part of Tanner Medical Group which consist of 42 individual practices and has approximately 270 total providers.
This APP will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide services for patients with cardiac issues in the clinic focusing on Congestive Heart Failure while having your own general cardiology patients and clearing surgical consults. He/she will collaborate with other providers while conducting physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic issues, order and interpret diagnostic test including lab work and imaging studies, provide education and counseling to patients while maintaining medical records via

EPIC EMR.

Position Requirements
Monday – Friday – Clinic
1:4 Inpatient weekend rounding (working with additional APP’s and physicians)
Will have 2 weekdays off when providing weekend coverage
No Call responsibilities
Job Eligibility Requirements
Education Completed Physician Assistant program in good standing or Master of Nursing with specialization in Nurse Practitioner
Certification/License
Currently hold or be able to obtain a Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License
Currently hold or be able to obtain a Board Certification as Nurse Practitioner
Experience
3-5 years of medicine experience desired OR 2-4 years of cardiology experience desired.
Qualifications
Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.
ACLS recommended.
Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e.

ACLS, PALS

)
Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program.
Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians
Must maintain high degree of confidentiality.
Must meet credentialing criteria.
Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.
Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.
Prior experience in a like specialty preferred.
