Full-Time Position Salary:

Educate patients on wellness, prevention and early detection byproviding materials and resources to the patients and theirfamilies. Determine which referrals are required based upon examination andpatient needs. Determine level of urgency of follow-up referral consultationappointments. Exercises final medical judgment in all issues of healthcare. Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients. Order studies, tests and ancillary services. Documents all services in patient medical record. Completes all office visit notes, before the beginning of thefollowing day from the day of the visit. Reviews, makes medical judgments and signs all consult notes,laboratory, diagnostic, ancillary, Pharmacy, Health RiskAssessment, Home Health, Durable Medical Equipment data/requestsbefore the beginning of the following day, from the day of whichthe request was placed in the clinician s queue. Returns all patient telephone calls by the end of the day on whichthe call was made. Reviews on a regular basis cases that require ongoing medicalattention with MCCI Case Management/Acute Care Program. Participates in quality improvement management, continuingeducation, and other patient care programs established by MCCI orclinical requirements. Consults with Medical Director and other professionals on staff asneeded regarding patient care, assessment and education issues. Oversees mid level medical staff as assigned as well as nursingclinical staff. Assists in resolution of complaints, requests and inquiries frompatients. Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according tofederal and state guidelines and regulations. Responsible for application of appropriate diagnostic andprocedural codes (CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10) to individual patienthealth records. Knowledge of national, state and payer specificregulations and policies pertaining to coding reimbursement. Initiates arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges andcompletes appropriate paperwork. Recognizes and completes age and disease specific measures/testingof patients as required by

NCQA/HEDIS.

Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families,staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds. Participates in patient retention and marketing activities asrequired. II. Common Job Skills Effective verbal and written communication skills along with propertelephone etiquette. Typing and computer skills to effectively navigate and utilizeEMR. Performs in a tactful and professional manner. III. Licensure/Certifications Degree in Internal Medicine/Family Practice from and accreditedschool and licensed to practice in the State of Georgia. Practice experience in outpatient setting with HMO or managed careis helpful. Board certified or eligible in primary care specialty isrequired. Current DEA and DPS Certification of Registration. Minimum of (2) two years of direct work experience.
