Wellstar Health System is seeking a dedicated and experienced PRN Pathologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pathology, providing accurate diagnoses and collaborating with clinical teams to ensure optimal patient care. This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate varying patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic pathology services including gross and microscopic examinations of tissue samples. Interpret laboratory results and communicate findings to clinical staff and healthcare providers. Collaborate with other medical professionals to discuss patient diagnoses and treatment plans. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case discussions. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality assurance standards. Assist in the training and mentorship of pathology residents and medical students. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of pathology reports and findings. Stay current with advancements in the field of pathology through continuous education and professional development.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology. Valid medical license to practice in the state of Georgia. Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
