Job Description

We’re looking for a dedicated medical professional to lead a high-impact team, shape policy, and influence the trajectory of behavioral health crisis care in Georgia. As the Lead Psychiatrist, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing and delivering psychiatric care at our DeKalb Regional Crisis Center (DRCC). You’ll supervise a team of Advanced Practice Nurses, provide direct psychiatric treatment, and drive clinical excellence throughout the facility.

What You’ll Do Lead & Supervise:

Provide psychiatric and medical oversight for all three levels of care at the DRCC.

Direct Care:

Deliver evaluations, diagnosis, crisis management, therapy, medication management, and withdrawal treatment for adults 18+.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the Crisis Center Director and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, trauma-informed, person-centered care.

Quality Improvement:

Guide data-informed strategies to drive clinical outcomes and participate in medical quality reviews.

Policy & Compliance:

Develop behavioral health medical policies that align with local and federal regulations.

Clinical Supervision:

Support and manage scheduling, coverage, and mentorship for APRNs; serve as physician of record when needed.

Community Engagement:

Foster professional relationships with area hospitals and providers to enhance continuity of care. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited medical school Licensed (or license-eligible) to practice medicine in Georgia Board-certified or board-eligible in General Psychiatry Experience in crisis care, recovery-oriented treatment, and psychiatric leadership strongly preferred Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) Strong interpersonal skills and clinical leadership abilities Committed to a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed model of care Perks & Benefits Competitive salaried position in the community behavioral health field No contract / At-will employment flexibility Malpractice insurance covered Electronic Health Records (EHR) with e-prescribing On-site pharmacy access Eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness & National Health Service Corps
