Join a mission-driven team supporting Veterans in the greater Atlanta area. We are seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists to deliver high-quality psychiatric care through the Atlanta VA Medical Center and its affiliated Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) . This is a full-time, onsite position under a government contract, offering the opportunity to serve those who served our country.
What You’ll Do:
Provide psychiatric evaluations, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy Treat a wide range of mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, MDD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, SUD) Prescribe medications and coordinate care across disciplines Participate in interdisciplinary team treatment planning Deliver care at multiple VA sites including Smyrna, Decatur, Marietta, College Park, and more Maintain accurate documentation using the VA’s EHR system (CPRS/Vista) Participate in team meetings, quality assurance reviews, and peer reviews
Requirements:
MD or DO from an accredited institution Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN) BLS and ACLS certified U.S. Citizenship Experience treating adult psychiatric patients Must pass credentialing and obtain VA privileges prior to start
Preferred:
Prior VA or military mental health experience Familiarity with VA systems (Vista/CPRS) Ability to supervise mid-level providers

Physicians will be assigned to VA facilities in the Atlanta metro area, including: Atlanta VA Medical Center (Decatur, GA) South Cobb VA Clinic (Smyrna, GA) Pickens VA Clinic (Jasper, GA) South Fulton VA Clinic (College Park, GA) Northeast Cobb VA Clinic (Marietta, GA)
Schedule & Terms:
Full-time, 80 hours per 2-week period Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM No work on federal holidays (unless otherwise specified) Contract term: 06/15/2025 – 06/14/2026 (with four 1-year renewal options)
