Job Description
Facility:
Paulding Hospital Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a motivated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – to join our General Cardiology team. This APP will work closely with cardiologists, other APPs, nursing staff, and support teams to provide high-quality cardiac care to patients in a community hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
Provide inpatient cardiology services, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care Collaborate with cardiologists to manage chronic and acute cardiac conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and hypertension Document patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely and thorough manner Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications Participate in weekend handoffs and coordination with weekday cardiology providers Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical standards, and relevant regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Georgia National board certification as an NP (AGACNP, FNP with experience) or PA-C BLS and ACLS certification required Minimum of 1 year of cardiology experience preferred; new grads with relevant clinical rotations may be considered Experience working in a hospital setting preferred Strong communication, clinical judgment, and collaborative skills
