Job Description

Emergency Medicine Physician – On-site | Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center Veterans Engineering (VE) is seeking a Board Certified/ Board Eligible Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine/Internal Medicine Physician services to provide on-site and must be able to successfully address the standard spectrum of emergency medicine patient presentations expected in an ED setting. (There are no pediatrics or trauma patients.)

Responsibilities Include:

Handle all emergencies presented to the Emergency Room. Stabilize the patient, examine and diagnose the patient to determine seriousness of illness or trauma. Educate individuals on the nature of health-related conditions, and the general promotion of health and the prevention of disease. Record patient-provider transactions in the problem oriented medical record format and complete data collection instruments, referrals and medical records as required. Record patient progress in health record. Participate in the quality assurance measures and program/guidelines for the Emergency Room. Monitor standard of care and quality of care. Full list of clinical tasks available upon request or during interview.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any state medical license Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine 2 years of substantial recent (i.e. within the past 5 years) experience working in an Emergency Department (ED) setting and must be able to successfully address the standard spectrum of emergency medicine patient presentations expected in an ED setting DEA and Controlled Substance Licensed Current
