Are you a passionate physician leader looking to make ameaningful impact on the lives of Veterans? VISN 16, which servesthe South-Central region of the United States, is seeking a dynamicand collaborative physician to serve as the Specialty CareIntegrated Clinical Communities (ICC) Lead. In this role, you llpartner with the VISN 16 Chief Medical Officer and Deputy ChiefMedical Officer to enhance specialty care services, advance medicaleducation, and foster innovation in research across the region. Why This Role Matters VISN 16 is one of the largest VA networks, serving Veterans acrossAlabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi,Oklahoma, and Texas. With 74 health care facilities, including 9 VAmedical centers, 27 primary care community-based outpatient clinics(CBOCs), 24 multi-specialty CBOCs, 12 outpatient servicefacilities, and 2 residential care sites, this network delivershigh-quality care to those who served our country. Collectively,VISN 16 facilities have created 15 innovations and adopted over 100innovations, reflecting a culture of forward-thinkingexcellence. As the Specialty Care ICC Lead, you ll play a pivotal role inenhancing specialty care across this diverse and innovativenetwork, ensuring Veterans receive the high-quality,patient-centered care they deserve. What You ll Do Collaborate with facility leadership to improve the quality andconsistency of specialty care services. Assist in developing and refining VISN 16 clinical protocols,policies, guidelines, and directives. Lead initiatives that enhance outcomes, safety, and the overallpatient experience. Integrate research and education into clinical practices tofoster innovation.

Tour of Duty:

Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM On-site work at one of the VISN 16 locations: Fayetteville, AR,Little Rock, AR, Alexandria, LA, New Orleans, LA, Shreveport, LA,Biloxi, MS, Jackson, MS, Ridgeland, MS, or Houston, TX.PreferredExperience We re seeking a leader who brings: Strong managerial and organizational skills to guide teams anddrive change. Extensive clinical knowledge in specialty care and relatedprograms to inform decisions. Board certification in internal medicine or a subspecialty ofinternal medicine (highly encouraged).Basic Requirements U.S. citizenship (Non-U.S. citizens may only be appointed whenit is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance withVA Policy). A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accreditedprogram in medicine or osteopathic medicine. A current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S.state or territory Completion of residency training accredited by the ACGME orequivalent.
