Description:
The Center for Translational Research in Infection and Inflammation(CTRII) located within Tulane University School of Medicine isseeking a hard-working and highly inquisitive postdoctoralresearcher to join our team. The CTRII performs transformativeresearch focusing on mucosal immunology and genomics to understandhost resistance mechanisms in disease. Current projects includeinvestigating sex-based differences in host responses to drugresistant Klebsiella pneumoniae infections and development of a K.pneumoniae vaccine. Candidates will be responsible for designing,developing, and implementing experimental protocols, data analysisand interpretation, and working with mouse models of disease. As apostdoctoral researcher in the CTRII, candidates will developseveral skills in immunobiology techniques and gain experience inwriting and presentation of scientific research.
- Additionalknowledge, skills, and abilities/competencies desired include:
- Basic knowledge of immunology
- Rodenthandling experience
- Maintenance of tissue/cellcultures for in vitro studies
- Protein, DNA, and RNAisolation from human and animal samples
- Real timeRT-PCR, PCR, ELISA, ELISpot, Immunoblot, and molecular cloning
- Flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry,immunofluorescence techniques
- Experience writingprotocols for animal studies (IACUC)
