Ochsner Health System in New Orleans is searching for a full time Transplant Pulmonologist to join our lung transplant program. Physician Ochsner Health – Transplant Pulmonologist Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Transplant Pulmonologist. Must have at least 12 months experience in all aspects of medical management of lung transplant patients. Ochsner Health is an integrated healthcare system with more than 36,000 employees and over 4,600 employed and affiliated physicians in over 90 medical specialties and subspecialties. It operates 47 hospitals and more than 370 health and urgent care centers across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Gulf South. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established lung transplant multi-disciplinary team comprised of transplant pulmonologists, cardio and thoracic surgeons, cardiac anesthesia, pharmacists, and coordinators who have successfully completed 501 lung transplants since the programs opening in 1991. The Ochsner lung transplant program is the only lung transplant program in Louisiana. The program has strong institutional support and is on an exciting path for continued growth, all while providing high quality of care to our patients. Ochsner Health System is one of the largest non-profit, academic, healthcare systems in the Gulf South and proudly serves patients in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama which includes a large catchment area of patients in need of lung transplant and advanced lung disease services. The hospital itself provides state of the art bronchoscopy suites, a dedicated Thoracic-Cardiovascular ICU, and a dedicated Transplant Stepdown Unit with highly trained transplant nursing staff. Interested candidates will be responsible for providing high level care for lung transplant patients. This will include pre-transplant evaluation, peri and post-operative care, bronchoscopy and other bedside procedures, and long-term follow-up. Opportunities for research and academic advances available based on candidates’ interest. Ochsner lung transplant supports both the LSU and Tulane Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowships and is involved in pulmonary fellow training with lecture series and on-site education during lung transplant clinical rotations. Ochsner is also partnered with the University of Queensland Medical School and academic appointments are available for interested applicants. Applicants will also have the opportunity to work in the Ochsner Advanced Lung Disease Clinic which provides a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and management of patients with fibrotic lung disease.
