Description:

The Section of Nephrology & Hypertension and the Tulane Transplant Institute at Tulane University School of Medicine is recruiting for a Clinician-Educator faculty position. This position will have responsibilities in Transplant Nephrology and General Nephrology. The percent spent in each area is dependent on the needs of the program and interest of the candidates. In partnership with the Tulane Transplant Institute oversee inpatient services that includes care of acute and chronic kidney disease, provision of dialysis services, fluid and electrolyte problems, and kidney transplant. The outpatient services include evaluation and management of, transplant patients and their associated medical conditions. Administrative and educational responsibilities shall include overseeing transplant waiting list management, and maintainingpliance of the transplant program. General nephrology outpatient services include care of chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, hypertension an ESRD. Hospitals covered include Tulane University Medical Center, University Medical Center and the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System. The physician will participate in the teaching and clinical programs of the Residents, Fellows, and medical students. The candidate will have on-call coverage on a rotating basis. The physician will attend on the inpatient services along with the Fellows. The Physician will have outpatient duties on a continuing basis. Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and candidates that are presently finishing fellowship are all encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

1. Medical degree required.
2. Board certification or eligibility in general Nephrology is required.
3. Candidates should have satisfactorilypleted a training program in general nephrology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and transplant nephrology accredited by American Society of Transplantation (AST)
3. Eligible for medical license in the state of Louisiana as well as CDS and DEA required.
4. Prior experience in teaching residents/fellows/students.
5. J1 Waiver eligible to apply
