The Alexandria VA Medical Center in Alexandria/Pineville, LA, is seeking a full-time, Board Certified, Family Medicine/Internal Medicine physician to serve as its Chief of Primary Care. Highlights of this position include:
Competitive Starting Salary $272,000 – $343,000 per year

Work Schedule:

Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4:00pm NO CALL
Provides administrative, clinical, and programmatic leadership for the service to ensure achievement of the goals of the service
Work independently; supervision is mainly advisory in nature
Direct patient care, clinical work, oversight, and administration of all aspects of the service
Supervise the administrative leads for Primary Care, and support staff
Attends all required meetings
Monitoring, reporting, and acting on residency and fellowship program, and
Oversight of residency and fellowship program
Additional duties as assigned

Additional Requirements:

Must be Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
At least one-year supervisory experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
Current one full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State

Malpractice:

Liability protection with tail coverage provided

Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and separate 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Possible 5 days for CME s and up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time with board certification)
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), if approved
Recruitment/Relocation may be authorized for highly qualified candidates
No Physician Employment contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
