Job Description
The Psychiatrist will be consulted by the PCP to render an opinion andprovide a brief consultation prior to returning care back to the PCP.The Psychiatrist will conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, developtreatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate results. Ourexpectation is that this position will see new patient evaluations, andfollow ups, that meet budgeted productivity expectations. This personwill support CHP’s mission, vision, and values and will adhere tocompliance protocols as well as CHP’s policies and procedures.## Position Requirements

Psychiatric Provider Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluates using a biopsychosocial model.
- Makes recommendations forongoing psychosocial or medical treatment plans.
- Monitors andevaluates treatment results.
- Evaluates patients by interviewingpatient, family, and other persons; conducting mental statusexaminations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and relateddocuments; and sending a request to the PCP if laboratory tests areneeded and evaluating results.
- Discusses progress towards goals withPCPs and patients.
- Maintains interdisciplinary approach throughconsulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental healththerapists, nurses, and other health care providers.
- Assures qualityand safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies,procedures, standards, rules, and legal regulations.
- Maintains medicalrecords by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events andcompleted notes and billing same day as the visit.
- Updates jobknowledge by participating in continuing medical educationalopportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personalnetworks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Enhancesdepartment and organization reputation by accepting ownership foraccomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities toadd value to job accomplishments.

Education, Experience, andLicensing Requirements:
- Completion of a psychiatric residency or afamily medicine/psychiatry residency in an ACGME
- Board certified bythe American board of psychiatry and neurology
- Valid state medicallicense as MD or DO
- Valid DEA and MCSR certificates.
- 5+ years’experience in psychiatric practice
