Breast Surgical Oncologist Position Available In Suffolk, Massachusetts

The Division of Surgical Oncology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a breast surgical oncologist for the BreastCare Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The position will be reporting to the Chief of Breast Surgical Oncology at BIDMC, and will also hold clinical privileges at BIDMC and participate in Tumor Board and Multidisciplinary Clinic at BIDMC. Additional privileges will be set up for Beth Israel Hospital – Needham. Successful candidates should be board certified or board eligible in general surgery, fellowship trained in an SSO-approved breast oncology program, and be eligible for a full Massachusetts medical license. The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong clinical capabilities in the surgical care of patients with breast diseases and experience leading a high-volume breast program. A track record of academic productivity is required as the candidate will be involved actively in the research and academic mission of the division, including teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities. In addition, the Department of Surgery will be engaged in the newly announced and exciting clinical collaboration between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), BIDMC, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England’s only free-standing adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration will bring together world-class clinicians to deliver transformational, precision medicine in an environment solely dedicated to defying cancer.
