Overview Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) iscurrently recruiting Emergency Medicine Physicians to support theG.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC located at 1500 E. Woodrow Wilson Dr,Jackson, MS 39216. Services are to be provided in accordance withmedical licensing and Emergency Medicine scope of practice.

Responsibilities Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management of minorwound care, respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, burns,musculoskeletal trauma, dermatological illness, ENT, eye, andurological problems. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management of minorprocedures such as local infiltration anesthesia, incision anddrainage, simple laceration repair, nail trephination,electro-coagulation, nasal cautery, gastric lavage, bladdercatheterization, peripheral venous line insertion, and spinalimmobilization. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management ofabdominal and gastrointestinal disorders (including trauma) of theesophagus, stomach, small bowel and colon rectum and anus, liverand biliary tree and pancreas. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management ofcardiovascular disorders (including trauma) involving cardiacfailure, differential diagnosis of chest pain, cardiac structuraldisorders, cardiac rhythm and conduction defects, pericardialdisorders, disease of peripheral arteries and veins, shock, andcutaneous disorders. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment and management ofemergent disorders caused by antigens, organisms, and other foreignsubstances such as reactions of hypersensitivity; reactions fromvenoms, bites, and stings; reactions caused by infectious agents;disorders due to chemical, drug and physical agents; and disordersassociated with the environment to include barotraumas, neardrowning, electrical injury, hypothermia and radiation injury. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management ofemergent disorders of the hematopoietic system such as anemia,coagulopathy and management of acute neoplastic diseasecomplication. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management ofemergent disorders of endocrine, metabolic and nutritional naturesrelating to acid-base disturbances, adrenal, parathyroid andthyroid disturbances. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management ofemergent disorders of the head and neck (including trauma)involving the ears, nose, oral cavity, larynx/trachea, face andvestibular system. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management ofemergent disorders (including trauma) of the eye involving the lidsand lachrymal apparatus conjunctiva, cornea, sclera, internalaspects of the globe and orbit. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management ofemergent disorders (including trauma) of the musculoskeletal systeminvolving shoulder girdle, upper extremity and hand, lowerextremity and foot, thorax and vertebrae and arthropathies. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management ofemergent disorders (including trauma) of the nervous systemincluding cerebral edema, coma, cranial nerve disease,cerebro-vascular disease and infection. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management ofemergent disorders of psychiatric origin including depression,anxiety reactions, suicide and psychosis. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment and management ofemergent respiratory disorders including pulmonary, infection,trauma, neoplasia, metabolic and complications of cardiovasculardisease. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment and management ofemergent renal and urologic disorders including acute/chronic renalfailure, infections, obstructive uropathy and hematuria andtrauma. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management of emergentOB/GYN disorders such as trauma, infection and pregnancy (ectopicand intra-uterine). Suture minor lacerations.
Major procedures:
shall be performed in the VAMC emergencydepartment when safe and appropriate to do so for procedures suchas central venous line placement, arterial catheter placement,emergency chest tube or needle thoracostomy to relieve tensionpneumothorax, peritoneal lavage, defibrillation and synchronizedcardioversion, endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture,proctoscopy/anoscopy, pericardiocentesis, simple closed fractureand dislocation reduction, arthrocentesis, local and up to moderatesystemic anesthesia (intravenous/regional), pericardiocentesis,temporary pacemaker placement, chest tube thoracostomy andcricothyroidotomy.
Stabilization and transfer:
Patients suffering traumaticinjuries where immediate treatment and release is not medicallyindicated and when clinical level of care is not available at theVAMC, the contractor s physician (s) shall provide initialstabilization and readying of such patients for transport to anappropriate facility for care. Shall provide discharge education and follow up instructionsthat are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergencydepartment patients. Qualifications Active Physician license from any U.S. State, Commonwealth,Territory, or the District of Columbia ABEM or AOBEM Board Certified or Board Eligible Minimum of two (2) years recent experience working in anEmergency Department (ED) setting.
