Overview
Job Summary
Obtains accurate demographic, financial and clinical information and enters into theputer system to create the medical and financial record. Applies financial guidelines to determine/collect patient liability. Performs physician requested labwork and EKGs, industry pre-employment drug screens. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
- Accurately follows physician’s orders when ordering diagnostic tests, such as lab work and EKGs, and performs those test which are part of the multi-skilled position.
- Registers patients accurately, efficiently and professionally to ensure data base integrity and facilitate claims processing.
- Participates in providing safe, cost effective patient care in a timely manner to achieve positive patient oues.
- Applies financial screening guidelines to ensure proper procedures are followed in obtaining upfront collections for the specific facility.
- Strives to expedite patient flow through prompt and courteous service.
- Participates in performance improvement activities (PI) by identifying areas of opportunity to ensure quality is consistent with established guidelines.
- Provides a safe, functional, and effective environment for patients, staff, and other individuals in the hospital, thus promoting quality patient care and achieving good oues.
- Performs other duties as assigned, to include health screening.
- Completes assigned goals.
Experience
Minimum Required Skill inmunicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high
productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessry to perform job duties.
Preferred/Desired
Admission and insurance experience. Phlebotomy certification or one year of phlebotomy experience.
