Job Description:

The Salem VA Medical Center is seeking Physicians withexperience in Pain Management who possess the energy, compassion,and commitment to serve those who serve our Country. You will begiven a chance to make a meaningful and personal contribution tothe lives of truly special and deserving people – our Veterans! The physician must be fully qualified to diagnose, treat,stabilize, and manage patients according to standard, usual, andacceptable methods, and techniques. He/she must complete andmaintain both BLS and ACLS certification, with courses approved bythe American Heart Association only. The physician will be requiredto maintain a weekday tour with assigned call sufficient to coverthe needs of the Service as determined by the Chief, MedicalService, and the Chief of Staff. Required call coverage may includethe physicians participation in the Third (3rd) Call Attendingrotation. In addition to required coverage assignments, thephysician will establish and maintain professional relationshipsclinic staff to include nursing employees assigned to their unit;other providers within Medical Service and with other services andfacility management which result in improved patient care.
