Videos Duties Clinical:

1. Responsible for delivery of primary care to pients the Durham VA Healthcare System. The provider will manage scheduled and unscheduled pients in the outpient clinic setting. 2. Primary focus of practice is the independent clinical evaluion of Veterans including prevention and pient self-management. Comprehensive primary care provided to male and female Veterans. 3. Care may be provided in many modalities including direct face to face care and virtual care (including telephonic, video, secure messaging, and others) 4. Promotes, directs, evalues, and manages clinical concerns found during these evaluions and is responsible for requesting referrals. 5. Functions as a member or in support of a Pient Aligned Care Team (PACT), collaboring with clinical and administrive support to provide timely, quality, coordined care for Veterans. 6. Utilizes and promotes approved standards of care, procedures, methods and techniques, safety precautions and protocols. 7. Primary providers in the outpient setting are typically assigned a panel of pients to manage. Panel size this time is determined by utilizing VHA software. 8. May need to assist in coverage for and care of the pients of colleagues and/or provide coverage in GAP clinic as needed. 9. Other clinical duties as assigned. Non-clinical;

Supervisory Controls:

The incumbent is directly responsible to the Clinic Medical Director. Assignments evolve from the flow of work and the physician provides care without detailed instructions. The physician works collaborively and under the direction of clinicians and administrive leadership of the Durham VA Ambulory Care Service. Administrive assignments may be assigned by supervisor, service, or senior HCS leadership. Work is reviewed for timely delivery of health care services and high-quality exams consistent with standardized practices.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of educion in medicine or osteophic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Residency Training:

Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certificion. (

VA physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty stus.) Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the Accredition Council for Gradue Medical Educion (ACGME), b) OR (2) Those approved by the American Osteophic Associion (AOA),OR (3) Other residencies (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United Stes), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with approprie professional training and believes has exposed the physician to an approprie range of pient care experiences.
