Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Abdominal Radiologist to join our medical team. As an Abdominal Radiologist, you will be responsible for interpreting and diagnosing images of the abdominal region obtained through various imaging modalities such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasound. Your expertise will be crucial in providing accurate and timely diagnoses to aid in the treatment and management of abdominal conditions and diseases. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Image Interpretation:

Utilize your expertise to interpret abdominal imaging studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasound examinations to diagnose abdominal conditions and diseases accurately. 2.

Diagnostic Reporting:

Prepare detailed and comprehensive diagnostic reports based on your interpretations of abdominal imaging studies. Ensure that reports are clear, concise, and provide clinically relevant information to assist referring physicians in patient management. 3.

Consultation and Collaboration:

Collaborate effectively with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings, provide consultation, and assist in developing appropriate treatment plans for patients with abdominal conditions. 4.

Minimally Invasive Procedures:

Perform minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, such as biopsies, aspirations, and injections. Using techniques such as fluoroscopy, CT, or ultrasound to precisely target and navigate instruments within the abdominal anatomy. Administer local anesthesia or sedation as needed to ensure patient comfort during procedures. 5.

Quality Assurance:

Maintain high standards of diagnostic accuracy and quality assurance in interpreting abdominal imaging studies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes to ensure the highest level of patient care. 6.

Continuing Education:

Stay updated with the latest advancements, techniques, and guidelines in abdominal radiology through continuous education (CME) and participation in relevant conferences, workshops, and seminars. 7.

Patient Care:

Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and excellent communication skills in interactions with patients undergoing abdominal imaging studies. Provide clear explanations of procedures and findings to patients and address any concerns or questions they may have. 8.

Requirements:

MD or DO Degree. Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent. Fellowship trained in abdominal imaging. North Carolina Medical License or Eligible.
