Primary Responsibilities:
- Utilize evidence-based screeningtools, medical tests, and diagnostic criteria to diagnose mentalhealth conditions and formulate comprehensive treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications per establishedprotocols and clinical guidelines; monitor medication efficacy andside effects, adjusting treatment plans to optimize patientoutcomes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medicalrecords and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with allregulatory requirements You’ll be rewarded and recognized for yourperformance in an environment that will challenge you and give youclear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well asprovide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications:
- Clear, active and unrestricted Physicianlicense (MD/DO) in the state of North Carolina
- Board certified inpsychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)or eligible for board certification
- Active DEA (Drug EnforcementAdministration) registration
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years ofclinical experience in an outpatient behavioral health setting
- Experience providing patient education, specifically regardingmedication treatment adherence and aftercare services
- Experiencecounseling patients using advanced psychotherapeutic techniques
- Experience working with patients in different age groups, includingolder adults
- Experience working with computers for professionalcommunication and medical documentation – Excel, Outlook, AthenaRMS (or other EHRs) Explore opportunities at Optum Behavioral Care.

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $214,000 to$382,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus andis based on several factors including but not limited to locallabor markets, education, work experience and may increase overtime based on productivity and performance in the role. We complywith all minimum wage laws as applicable.
