MEDICINE-INTERNAL MEDICINE
PHYSICIAN- Part-Time (20 or 24 hours per week) Are you passionate about helping the underserved? Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). WNCCHS delivers patient care with a highly integrated team of family medicine practitioners, dentists, and behavioral health clinicians with on-site pharmacy services in a community health center setting. We are looking for Primary Care Physician (PCP) to provide professional medical services to complement the delivery of integrated team-based, whole-person, trauma-informed primary health care services. The candidate may select a 20 or 24-hour schedule. The provider may choose to work (2) 10-hour days or (3) 8-hour days. The Physician effectively collaborates with, and or delegates to members of the interdisciplinary health care team and provides clinical leadership and supervision to advanced practice nurses (APN) & physician assistants (PA), and indirect supervision of medical support staff. RESPONSIBILITIES- Includes but not limited to the following: Assess, maintain and improve the health status of individuals in the communities served through timely access to evidence-based acute, preventive, and chronic disease care Serves as a role model of professionalism to all members of the interdisciplinary health care team. Collaborates with all Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIP) and Other Licensed Independent Practitioner (OLIP) including Physicians, APNs, PAs, Therapists, Dentists, etc., and clinical support staff to form a high performing team. Cultivates a climate of safety, trust and compassion for patients and colleagues Provides medical evaluation, treatment, and consultation services to patients of the clinic in a timely manner, including responding to emergencies and answering medical questions Provides high-value cost-conscious care; demonstrates good stewardship of resources by limiting unnecessary testing and referrals; and considers risks, benefits, and patient preferences when making diagnostic or therapeutic intervention decisions Documents all patient care activities and bills for all services provided in the electronic health record. Documentation must be clear, concise, accurate, updated, and in sufficient detail to allow another provider to continue the patient’s care as well as to allow other parties to review the safety and quality of care provided
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training:
Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy is required. Completion of residency from an accredited program
Certifications/Licensure:
Current unrestricted North Carolina MD or DO licensure, DEA and BLS are required Must be Medicaid and Medicare eligible Board Certification in Specialty is preferred AAHIVM Certification is preferred
Experience:
Must have or be able to obtain admitting privileges to the local hospital Previous medical office or FQHC experience is preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledgeable about current standards, methods, and procedures for the delivery of evidence-based care in an efficient, organized, and accurate manner Have collaboration and teamwork skills to work efficiently with others to provide new ideas and help inspire staff and management Flexibility to work with a variety of people differing in ages, personalities, and backgrounds. Demonstrates leadership, teaching, and evaluation skills Additional skills preferred : Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Russian Experience in public health

Salary based on 24 hours a week: $112,320 to $121,056 Salary based on 20 hours a week: $93,600 to $100,880 Hourly range $90.00 to $97.00
