- SouthPark and Fort Mill in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
Position Highlights:
- Join a dedicated team of 15 physicians and 1 APP
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM
- 4:30 PM
- Office/clinic hours: 8:00 AM
- 5:00 PM
- No call, no nights, no weekends
- Outpatient only with procedures (Joint Injections)
- Competitive base salary
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as an APP required
- Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
- Licensure required in NC and SC
- Nurse Practitioners must have a master’s or doctorate in nursing practice with certification in their area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body (e.g., AGNP, AGACNP, PNP, etc.)
- Physician Assistants must graduate from an accredited PA program with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Prior experience seeing new patients, self-directed learning with guidance, and attendance at rheumatology conferences is preferred
Job Summary:
Specialty care APPs at Atrium Health Rheumatology provide focused outpatient care in a single system, serving patients with complex autoimmune and chronic rheumatologic conditions. The position offers exposure to joint injection procedures and emphasizes continuous learning and collaboration.
Essential Functions:
- Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments
- Records findings and develops/implements patient plans of care
- Performs minor office-based medical and/or surgical procedures, including joint injections
- Orders, interprets, and follows up on diagnostic tests including lab and radiology
- Writes and administers prescriptions
- Provides patient and family education
- Documents all patient encounters and interventions in the EMR
- Acts as a patient advocate for the population served
- Attends and contributes to team development and quality initiatives
Physical Requirements:
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support up to 35 pounds. Must be able to speak and write English fluently. Must have the ability to perform in stressful situations and possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity.
