Position Summary The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is recruiting an Academic Surgical Pathologist for a tenure-track/tenured, fixed-term, or variable track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The position will involve diagnostic surgical pathology, with an opportunity to focus primarily, if not exclusively, on Breast Pathology. Those with an interest in covering an additional Surgical Pathology service or Cytopathology are also encouraged to apply. This position requires expertise in all aspects of Breast Pathology, including image guided core biopsies and radiological-pathological correlation, evaluation of surgical specimens after neoadjuvant chemotherapy, interpretation of breast biomarkers with current

ASCO/CAP

guidelines, and evaluation of outside cases for patients referred to UNC. Participation in a multidisciplinary tumor board and effective communication with an active clinical care team are also required. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. In addition to teaching clinical residents and fellows, opportunities are available for teaching in the School of Medicine and the Graduate School. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements MD or DO degree, be board-certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, and be eligible to obtain a medical license in North Carolina. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Sign-out experience and/or fellowship training in Breast Pathology is strongly preferred.
