(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.

  • This is an advanced level medical professional position with the responsibility of providing primary care, making medical diagnoses, carrying out medical treatment plans, and prescribing.

Other responsibilities include and are not limited to:
Providing of service for a large variety of patient’s conditions and a wide array of duties and responsibilities to the patient population. Providing direct support for the Clinical Director.
Overseeing the duties of the Physician Extender or Resident Physicians/ Students whenever warranted. Position is typically scheduled Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; on call. About the Walter B.

Jones Center:

The Walter B. Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs on site in

Greenville, NC:

(1) Woodside Treatment Center and (2) Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital. The primary purpose and mission of the Walter B. Jones Center is “To provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses for ongoing community based treatment and recovery.” The Center is accredited by Joint Commission and

SAMHSA/CSAT.

Two specialty programs are offered to all 100

NC Counties:

(1) Inpatient Opioid Treatment for adults and (2) Inpatient Perinatal Services for women in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters with substance use disorders. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies To receive credit for all of your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the application form. Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following: Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of general, preventive medicine and of the techniques involved. Demonstrated thorough knowledge of biological, social, and psychological developmental processes at all ages. Proven skill in treating and diagnosing a variety of diseases and injuries in the practice of an applicable specialty of medicine. Proven ability to assess and interpret laboratory results, clinical data and information relative to the patient’s condition. Proven ability to supervise and guide work performance of residents and mid-level practitioners.
Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associate personnel, patients, and their families, and the general public. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina.
