The Department of Neurology at Hackensack University MedicalCenter (HUMC), a major academic medical center within theHackensack Meridian Health system, seeks to employ a full-timeposition in neurology with protected time as Program Director ofthe newly created Neurology Residency. Candidates will be boardcertified in Neurology and have extensive graduate medicaleducation experience, with at least 3-5 years in Neurologyresidency leadership roles. Faculty appointment at HackensackMeridian School of Medicine (HMSOM) is a requirement with rankcommensurate with experience. The Neurology Residency is newlycreated, and will be recruiting for July 2026, with a total of 12positions. It is a categorical program with guaranteed Y1 positionswith the HUMC Internal Medicine residency program. HUMC Neurologyprovides a full-time stroke service and neurocritical care (NCC)service as well as inpatient Neurology consultations. HUMC is aJoint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center, servingover 800 total stroke patients/year, supported by 8 vascularneurologists, 4 neurointerventional specialists, and 10 APNs. TheNCC program features 7 NCC providers & 11 APPs providing care in abrand new, state-of-the-art facility. HUMC Neurology also providesa robust outpatient practice in a separate brand new clinic withmultiple interprofessional subspecialty centers of excellence. Theposition will be recruited for by Florian P. Thomas, MD, PhD,Founding Chair and Professor of Neurology at HUMC & HMSOM and ColumF.
