Job Description
Will work in the
ER, OR, ICU
floors, seeing only trauma patients There are 20-30 patients on the trauma list daily, 5-10 are on the trauma service. The trauma APPs are expected to see 8-15 patients per day, depending on what patients present to the ER Adult center, but if pediatric trauma patients present, we would stabilize and transfer to a pediatric center Trauma PAs may have to go to the OR if an emergency surgery is needed. There are currently 7 different surgeons who take trauma call. There are no trauma surgeons in house 24/7, but they are required to be present within 15 minutes of an emergency trauma call. All are immediately available by phone. ER physicians, anesthesiologists, and hospitalist doctors are in house 24/7 REQUIREMENTS (state license, life support, DEA, etc .): NY – license Required ; DEA, ATLS
