You will be responsible for ensuring that treatment programs are planned, organized, and conducted per patient needs. You will provide clinical and administrative oversight to medical staff, including psychiatrists, physicians, pediatricians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and pharmacists; oversee the quality of treatment services provided by medical staff; perform case reviews and provide treatment to patients; provide advice and serve as a resource to lower-level facility medical staff; and collect and analyze data to enhance medication management on an ongoing basis. Minimum QualificationsMust have possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State; certification in psychiatry by the ABPN; and two years of post-board certification experience as a member of the psychiatric staff in a psychiatric hospital and/or in the psychiatry department of a general hospital, one year of which must have included clinical supervision of other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, or fellows. OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
