Job Description
St. Josephs Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) team on a per diem basis. This critical role provides evaluation, diagnosis, and acute treatment for patients experiencing behavioral health emergencies. The CPEP psychiatrist plays an integral role within a multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure timely, effective interventions and patient stabilization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct psychiatric assessments for individuals in crisis Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychotropic medication management Collaborate with emergency department staff, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and security personnel, to ensure coordinated and compassionate care Recommend and facilitate appropriate dispositions, including inpatient admission, outpatient referral, or community support services
QUALIFICATIONS
Active New York State medical license or eligibility Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills in fast-paced, high-acuity environments Prior experience in emergency psychiatry or related behavioral health settings preferred
COMPENSATION
