Job Description
Foot and Ankle Division Chief Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute The Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute (LVOI) seeks an outstanding leader in Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgery to serve as our Division Chief. The LVOI is one of the country s largest and busiest Musculoskeletal care centers; our nearly 200 providers perform over 27,000 Orthopedic procedures annually. Our Institute has been recognized by US News & World Report as in the Nation. In partnership with the Physician-in-Chief (to whom the successful candidate would report) and the Executive Leadership Council (ELC), the roles and responsibilities of the Foot & Ankle Division Chief would include, but not be limited to: 1) Oversee clinical operations for all Foot & Ankle Surgery at all locations 2) Manage day-to-day activities of the Division and it s Section of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery 3) Mentor Division members, promote educational programs and encourage scientific inquiry 4) Work with the Physician-in-Chief and Executive Leadership Council to direct the strategy and vision for LVOI by contributing insights from the Foot & Ankle Division, as well as adhere to and uphold the LVOI s Citizenship commitments 5) Plan and manage the clinical expansion of the Foot & Ankle Division through strategic recruitment and retention of talent 6) Work collaboratively with leadership across all divisions at in LVOI and across the Network 7) Prepare to take a Division-level, Department Level or Program level leadership position in the event that LVOI starts an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Residency or Foot & Ankle Fellowship The successful candidate will be supported to develop their clinical practice, as well as be assigned an administrative dyad partner to assist with leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in scholarly activity in their specialty, as well as promote the collection and application of Institute-wide quality and outcome measures. The position may be executed at one or more of the multiple points of care throughout our large geographic footprint. Consideration will be given to the successful candidate s preferences regarding location of practice. The following requirements are considered conditions of employment: A valid Pennsylvania medical license MD or DO degree from an accredited degree-granting institution Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Residency program Completion of a year-long Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Fellowship Board certification/eligibility in
