Yes Job Summary:

Primarily responsible for supporting Operations Director in operational activities of the Radiology Department. Responsible for assisting with department operations and staff in at least one specific department modality. Responsible for administrative, financial and equipment needs for assigned department modalities. Responsible for developing and initiating improvements in the organization and delivery of high quality, cost effective radiology services.

Job Duties:

Develops work schedules and appropriate staffing plans. Modifies schedules as needed for to maintain adequate coverage for all modalities they cover within radiology. Assesses staff performance and completes evaluations. Thoroughly evaluates and responds to staff ideas and concerns. Reports and documents staff incidents and exposure. Participates in the interview and evaluation process of potential candidates. Coaches and teaches staff. Ensures proper training and orientation of staff. Effectively uses all appropriate equipment. Adheres to policies and procedures for imaging. Stays current on new scanning protocols andprocedures. Ensures staff is up-to-date. Acts as a resource for staff. Utilizes radiology information system and picture archiving and communication system and EPIC systems to efficiently complete job duties. Maintains flexibility in performing all procedures, despite patient difficulties. Assesses, examines and cares for patients of all ages. Performs proper patient preparation. Responds effectively to patient concerns. Treats all patients with respect and dignity. Uses universal precautions. Reports and properly documents patient incidents. Provides safe environment for patients. Ensures quality assurance processes are followed. Ensures appropriateness review of exams. Participates in the Radiology Performance Improvement Committee. Ensures performance improvement processes are followed. Conducts annual competency imaging audit for all employees. Ensures repairs and routine maintenance are performed in a timely manner. Reports malfunctions to service engineer and the Regional Operations Director. Ensures adequate medical supplies. Notifies proper personnel and vendor and Purchasing Dept. of supply needs. Adheres to budget as assigned, making certain work flow is productive in attaining necessary revenues. Ensures patient schedules are maximized based on established templates. Works with Quality Standards to monitor department in terms of compliance with the Joint Commission, Department Of Health and Department of Environmental Protection. Ensures compliance with Joint Commission Standards and National Patient Safety Goals. Reports non-compliance issues and unresolved concerns to the Regional Operations Director. Performs department tracers and surveys to ensure patient safety and compliance with above entities. Assumes duties of the Regional Operations Director when needed. Approves time records, handles employee issues, recommends disciplinary action, and represents Radiology for campus or system needs. Helps assess and evaluate departmental needs. Identifies and resolves discrepancies. Participates in departmental planning efforts. Works in conjunction with other service lines to help prepare and plan for future needs and expectations. Manages staff, resources and time to achieve results. Proactively responds to and supports change. Provides a timely resolution to issues, anticipates problems and effectively handles and adjusts as situation warrants. Works with other service lines to ensure effective service. Communicates in a timely, respectful and clear manner. Provides appropriate information to staff; recognizes high performers, motivates mid-performers and addresses low performers as needed. Supervision of staff. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Position Details:
Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required), Bachelor’s Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred)

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years-Related work experience (Required), Minimum of 3 years-Managerial/Supervisory (Required) Certification(s) and License(s): Certified Radiology Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
