Job Description
An established and well-supported hospital in West Columbia, South Carolina is seeking a GI hospitalist or GI medical director to lead the development of a brand-new inpatient gastroenterology service. This is a unique opportunity to be the first GI physician onsite and to build a program from the ground up. The position offers the chance to shape clinical operations, establish protocols, and collaborate closely with a local GI group that is transitioning away from inpatient responsibilities while maintaining outpatient follow-ups. The schedule is flexible, with options for a traditional Monday – Friday model or a potential 7-on/7-off rotation as the program expands. Advanced procedures such as ERCP and EUS are available, but not required.
