Overview
QuarterLine, a Planned Systems International (PSI) Company, is currently seeking an on-site Board-Certified Radiologist to join our team providing meaningful and critical care for our country’s veterans at William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Columbia, South Carolina. Services include a range of Interventional Radiology in a state-of-the-art facility.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
Provide onsite Abdominal/GU, Breast Imaging, Cardiovascular, General, Interventional, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology radiologist services.
Scope of care includes general and interventional Radiology procedures, including, but not limited:
Diagnostic Radiology
Ultrasound
Computed Tomography (CT)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Nuclear Medicine (Nuc Med)
Interventional Radiography (IR)
Communicate test results to providers and patients.
Provide consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for general, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuc med, and IR radiologic procedures so that the most expeditious and clinically appropriate work-up can be done.
Review of consults/orders and next-day patient cases for minimum of two hours daily
Provide post-procedure evaluation and follow-up and clinical consultation.
Determine the appropriate course of treatment and communicate in person or by phone with the referring clinicians.
Follow all established medication policies and procedures.
Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients.
Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the facility.
Perform on-going peer reviews for approximately four hours per month.
Participate in a rotational on-call coverage. Phone availability 24/7 for consultation and 60 minute onsite response, when scheduled.
Minimum Requirements

Medical License:

Current, unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory.

Board Certification:

American Board of Radiology (ABR).

Certifications:

BLS and ACLS (must be current).

Credentialing/Privileging:

Must be completed prior to start date.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to pass a federal background check and comply with all VA training requirements.
Up-to-date immunizations (PPD, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Flu, etc.).
NPI and DEA registration.
U.S. citizenship or valid work authorization.
Willingness to undergo ongoing education and annual training (VA-mandated).
Desired Qualifications
Prior VA experience welcomed.
Experience working in hospital or high-volume environments.
Technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
