Role Description:
This full-time, on-site role based in Columbia, South Carolina is for an Experienced CNIM Clinician specializing in advanced craniotomy procedures. The clinician will serve as a critical member of the surgical team, providing expert intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM) during complex neurosurgical cases, with a primary focus on craniotomies.
Key responsibilities include:
Performing advanced IONM techniques during brain surgeries, including motor mapping, sensory mapping, and brainstem monitoring. Setting up, calibrating, and operating neurophysiologic monitoring equipment in the OR. Interpreting real-time neurophysiologic data and communicating findings to the surgical team to protect and optimize neurological function. Collaborating closely with neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, and operating room staff in high-stakes environments. Maintaining accurate records and adhering to all protocols and regulatory standards. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of clinical IONM experience, with extensive craniotomy case exposure. CNIM certification (Certified in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring) required. Strong understanding of neuroanatomy and functional neurophysiology. Ability to think critically under pressure and make sound decisions in real-time. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary team environment. Bachelor’s degree in Neurodiagnostics, Neuroscience, or a related field required; Master’s degree a plus.
