POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education /
Training:
- Current licensure by the State of Tennessee as a medical doctoror osteopathic physician.
- Current DEA number.
- Able to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, goodinterpersonal interactions, and apply sound administrativeprinciples.
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine orFamily Medicine. The practitioner must be board certified within 5years of completion of residency or fellowship training.
- Current ACLS certification.
Equipment and Skills Training:

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Provides information, education, and support to patient and thepatient’s family members. Includes the patient and their family incare planning.
- Provides information, education, and support to nurses andother staff. Includes nurses and other staff in care planning.
- Communicates and works cooperatively with peers, consultants,and ER staff.
- Facilitates appropriate and timely admission, discharge, andtransfer of patients.
- Maintains knowledge and proficiency in medical practicesthrough continuing education, hospital conferences, home study, anduse of resources and consultants.
- Participates effectively in multidisciplinary rounds bycommunicating diagnosis, stating clear goals, workingcooperatively, being open to feedback, and being efficient.
- Participates in building positive culture through honest,constructive, friendly, and team-minded interactions.
- Chart documentation is accurate, clear, concise, and conformsto the program’s adopted system of note-writing.
- Sign-out communications and hand-offs are up-to-date, clear,concise, and appropriately targeted.
- Presents professionally, including appearance and demeanor.
- Reports to work on time and assures patient care isappropriately triaged, managed, or assigned prior to leaving.
- Attends to assignments, as needed, to reduce cost, maintainsafety, or improve efficiency.
