ResponsibilitiesFunction as aconsultant to patients, physicians and other members of theinterdisciplinary team to assure provision of quality of palliativecare including pain and symptoms management as you collaborate withthe patients’ attending physician.
Assure appropriate evaluation ,certification, and recertification of terminal prognosis at thetime of admission and at the end of each certification period.
Serveas the physician member of the Professional AdvisoryCommittee.
Conduct educational seminars, in-services andpresentations to physicians, nurses, and other health careaudiences to improve quality of patient care and promote hospiceservices and increase access to patients.
Available for in-house orphone consultation for acute patient clinical problems that cannotbe resolved through staff, directors and primary or on-callphysician and available for consultation or joint visits inhospital or home when indicated .QualificationsDoctor of m edicineor o steopathy degree from an accredited medical school.
Boardcertification in hospice and palliative care is preferred but notrequired. Experienced physicians with a passion for working withpatients in hospice and palliative care are welcome toapply.
Current and unencumbered license to practice specific to thatstate you are assigned to work.
Membership in good standing on themedical staff of at least one contracted hospital.
Current CPRcertification.
Valid d river’s l icense and reliable transportationand agency required liability insurance to complete home visits.
