Actively engage in resident and medical student education, curriculum development, and close partnership with program leadership. Roles and Responsibilities Supervise inpatient teams composed primarily of pediatric residents, family medicine residents, and medical students. No non-teaching clinical service obligations. Call by phone from home on alternating nights while on service. Swing shifts distributed equitably among 9 hospitalists. Participate in quality and process improvement efforts. Engage in resident and medical student education in clinical and formal/didactic environments. Education, Training, & Experience MD or DO degree. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics required; Board Eligible/Certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine preferred. Ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Tennessee. Children’s Hospital at Erlanger Services On-site Pediatric Trauma Team. 17-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. 43 in-patient beds plus 2-bed EMU with over 5,000 admissions last year. Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with 64 beds. 32-bed Pediatric Emergency Department with over 40,000 visits each year. Broad clinical platform including cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, orthopedics, urology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, surgery, medical genetics, infectious disease, rheumatology, dermatology, comprehensive cancer and blood disorders, psychology, psychiatry, neurology, interventional radiology, palliative care, and physical, speech, and occupational therapies.
