A large health system is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist forlocum tenens coverage. Knoxville, Tennessee is known for its’unique mix of natural beauty, outdoor adventure, and culturalattractions which makes it the perfect assignment location! Theschedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with anaverage of 16 patients per day, primarily new benign hematology andfollow-up visits. Active treatment patients will remain under thecare of the primary physician for continuity. Inpatient coverage isoccasional and only required when the designated inpatientphysician is unavailable. In such cases, the covering physician maywalk to a nearby hospital to consult on patients managed byhospitalists; acute leukemia patients are referred to theUniversity of Tennessee for specialized care. Two inpatient NPssupport this process by preparing patients before the physician’sarrival, following a fellow-style model. Outpatient services arefully supported by three NPs, three RNs, and three MAs across threephysicians. There is no evening or weekend call required at thistime. The clinic uses Cerner EMR, M-Model dictation, and an AIscribe.
