A large health system is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist forlocum tenens coverage.
Knoxville, Tennessee is known for its’ uniquemix of natural beauty, outdoor adventure, and cultural attractionswhich makes it the perfect assignment location!
The schedule isMonday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with an average of 16patients per day, primarily new benign hematology and follow-upvisits. Active treatment patients will remain under the care of theprimary physician for continuity. Inpatient coverage is occasionaland only required when the designated inpatient physician isunavailable. In such cases, the covering physician may walk to anearby hospital to consult on patients managed by hospitalists;acute leukemia patients are referred to the University of Tennesseefor specialized care. Two inpatient NPs support this process bypreparing patients before the physician’s arrival, following afellow-style model. Outpatient services are fully supported bythree NPs, three RNs, and three MAs across three physicians. Thereis no evening or weekend call required at this time. The clinicuses Cerner EMR, M-Model dictation, and an AI scribe.
