A comprehensive regional pediatric medical center in East Tennessee is seeking a Child Abuse Pediatrician to join our team as part of succession planning. About the Practice and Community Our medical center features more than 100 pediatric subspecialists and serves patients throughout the East Tennessee region. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to infants, children, and adolescents. Position Overview The Child Abuse Pediatrician will work within a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, hospital social workers, child protective services, and law enforcement agencies. This role involves gathering information, representing patient medical concerns, and providing both inpatient and ambulatory clinical care for the evaluation and management of suspected child abuse and neglect cases. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and manage infants, children, and adolescents for suspected child abuse and neglect in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, child protective services, and law enforcement, to ensure comprehensive care and accurate information sharing. Participate in the diagnosis and treatment of various forms of child maltreatment, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and medical child abuse. Serve as a medical resource for community agencies and may provide expert testimony as needed. Qualifications Board-certified or board-eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics. Fellowship trained in Child Abuse Pediatrics. Valid Tennessee medical license (or eligibility to obtain). Strong communication skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
