Overview The Psychiatrist provides direct professional servicesin the evaluation and treatment of clients in order to evaluate,diagnose and treat the entire range of psychiatric disorders. Youwill provide continuing medication management for assigned clientsas well as functioning as the medical team representative on amultidisciplinary treatment team designed to offer comprehensivebehavioral health services. You will work in a collaborative mannerwith Advanced Practice Nurses and other members of the care team.

What You’ll Do:
As a childpsychiatrist, you will provide direct professional services in theevaluation and treatment of clients in an outpatient environment ata community mental health center. The primary focus of thisposition will be providing comprehensive care inclusive of mentalhealth and substance use disorders.
You will:
Evaluate patients formental, emotional or behavioral disorders. Diagnose disorders,including nature and extent, and determine the appropriate courseof treatment for the patient. Prescribe medication when necessary.
Maintain documentation consistent with SummitStone qualityassurance procedures and clinical performance standards. Maintainup-to-date and accurate records according to agency standards.
Achieve SummitStone standards for the provision of direct/billableclient services. Monitor and evaluate the quality of medical andtherapeutic services provided. Provide direct psychiatric treatmentfor clients. Attend committee meetings, staff meetings andinter-agency meetings as required. Comply with County, State andfederal laws, rules and regulations pertaining to mental healthcare. Maintain medical staff privileges at designated hospital asrequired. Participate in on-call coverage schedule on rotatingbasis. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education andExperience:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)from an accredited university with additional post-graduatetraining in child psychiatry. Demonstrated commitment and experience working with personsfrom marginalized communities and other patient populationsexperiencing vulnerabilities. Understanding and commitment to Medications for AddictionTreatment and harm reduction principles required.
Licenses andCertifications:
DEA Certification License for psychiatry in the State of Colorado required. Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30days of hire and a clean driving record. Board certified or eligible with plans for certification.
