The physician provides direct professional services in theevaluation and treatment of clients in order to evaluate, diagnoseand treat the entire range of psychiatric and substance usedisorders. You will provide continuing medication management forassigned clients as well as functioning as the medical teamrepresentative on a multidisciplinary treatment team designed tooffer comprehensive behavioral health services. You will work in acollaborative manner with Advanced Practice Nurses and othermembers of the care team.

What You’ll Do:
As a Physician- MD/DO, you will provide directprofessional services in the evaluation and treatment of clients inan outpatient environment at a community mental health center. Theprimary focus of this position will be providing comprehensive careinclusive of mental health, substance use and physical health careneeds.
You will:
Evaluate patients for mental, emotional orbehavioral disorders. Diagnose disorders, including nature andextent, and determine the appropriate course of treatment for thepatient. Prescribe medication when necessary. Maintaindocumentation consistent with SummitStone quality assuranceprocedures and clinical performance standards. Maintain up-to-dateand accurate records according to agency standards. AchieveSummitStone standards for the provision of direct/billable clientservices. Monitor and evaluate the quality of medical andtherapeutic services provided. Provide direct psychiatric treatmentfor clients. Attend committee meetings, staff meetings andinter-agency meetings as required. Comply with County, State andfederal laws, rules and regulations pertaining to mental healthcare. Maintain medical staff privileges at designated hospital asrequired. Participate in on-call coverage schedule on rotatingbasis.
Education and Experience:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)from an accredited university. Demonstrated commitment and experience working with personsfrom marginalized communities and other patient populationsexperiencing vulnerabilities. Understanding and commitment to Medications for AddictionTreatment and harm reduction principles required
Licenses andCertifications:
DEA Certification Appropriate medical license in the State of Coloradorequired.
