The psychiatrist provides direct professional services in theevaluation and treatment of clients in order to evaluate, diagnoseand treat the entire range of psychiatric disorders. You willprovide continuing medication management for assigned clients aswell as functioning as the medical team representative on amultidisciplinary treatment team designed to offer comprehensivebehavioral health services. You will work in a collaborative mannerwith Advanced Practice Nurses and other members of the care team.

What You’ll Do:
As a psychiatrist, you will provide directprofessional services in the evaluation and treatment of clients inan outpatient environment at a community mental health center. Theprimary focus of this position will be providing comprehensive careinclusive of mental health and substance use disorder.
You will:
Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
Diagnose disorders, including nature and extent, and determine theappropriate course of treatment for the patient. Prescribemedication when necessary. Maintain documentation consistent withSummitStone quality assurance procedures and clinical performancestandards. Maintain up-to-date and accurate records according toagency standards. Achieve SummitStone standards for the provisionof direct/billable client services. Monitor and evaluate thequality of medical and therapeutic services provided. Providedirect psychiatric treatment for clients. Attend committeemeetings, staff meetings and inter-agency meetings as required.
Comply with County, State and federal laws, rules and regulationspertaining to mental health care. Maintain medical staff privilegesat designated hospital as required. Participate in on-call coverageschedule on rotating basis. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)from an accredited university with additional post-graduatetraining in Psychiatry. Demonstrated commitment and experience working with personsfrom marginalized communities and other patient populationsexperiencing vulnerabilities. Understanding and commitment to Medications for AddictionTreatment and harm reduction principles required
Licenses andCertifications:
DEA Certification License to practice psychiatry in the State of Coloradorequired.
