Radiation Oncology Key Qualifications:

Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Documentation of certification provided annually to the VA COR.

Experience Requirements:

Expertise in 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy (3D-CRT). Minimum of three (3) years experience in Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). A minimum of 10 documented cases within the last two years in Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS). Three (3) years experience with the Eclipse treatment planning system and ARIA record & verify system including treatment modalities such as 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and

IMRT/VMAT.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Interpret a range of diagnostic services including mammography, nuclear medicine, PET, plain films, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI. Provide general diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine services for VA TVHS patients. Utilize PACS and voice recognition systems for study interpretation and report generation. Ensure timely dictation and signing of all studies and clinical notes. Engage in direct communication with ordering providers on critical findings. Participate in peer review activities and attend clinical conferences. Equitable night call and weekend backup duties may be assigned. Possibility to teach, supervise, and evaluate radiology residents and medical students.
