is sourcing a qualified Plastic Surgeon Physician for the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center 1030 Jefferson Avenue Memphis
TN 38120.
Position Requirements:
Must hold a current, active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory. All licensed shall be full and unrestricted. Physician(s) shall be Board Certified / Board Eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Certified in BLS, ACLS or equivalency
Scope of Care :
Physician(s) shall be responsible for providing Plastic Surgery care, including, but not limited to:
Clinic and Surgical Responsibilities :
Physician(s) shall provide clinical Plastic Surgery services. Physician(s) shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries start times as documented by physical presence in the clinic or OR at the scheduled start time.
Operative Services :
Physician(s) shall provide comprehensive clinical Plastic Surgery services.
Intraoperative Follow-up :
The Physician(s) shall be present in the operating suite for all Plastic Surgery procedures. Physician assistant(s) shall be available as needed.
Postoperative Follow-Up :
Physician(s) rounds shall be conducted on postoperative patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and on the wards. All cases will be discussed in morbidity and mortality conferences, and the physician(s) will provide appropriate information to the COR for inclusion in departmental reports. Contractor physician(s) shall provide consultative services at the patient s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic. Consultations shall be scheduled for completion within 30 days of the date of the consult. Physician assistant(s) shall be available as needed. The contractor s physician(s) are expected to actively participate in the facility s performance improvement activities as part of the contracted service time. Performance Improvement Activities may include the following:
Utilization Patient Incident Internal Peer Review Drug Usage Medical Record Review Outpatient Qualitative and Quantitative Review Hospital Safety Blood Usage Review Infection Control External Peer/case Review Program Reporting Surgical Risk Assessment Program Surgical Case Review Required Documentation:
Current CV Medical License Board Certification NPI/DEA Number
ACLS/BLS
Certifications Medical Diploma VA Business Hours :
Clinic and Operating Room Hours shall be scheduled during normal VA operating hours which are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Local Time. Hours from Attending duties are flexible depending on the needs of the patients. When a holiday falls on a nonworkday Saturday or Sunday the holiday usually is observed on Monday (if the holiday falls on Sunday) or Friday (if the holiday falls on Saturday).
Off-hours/On-Call Coverage :
Contractor shall perform on-call coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Contractor must make the Contractor s physician(s) and physician assistant(s) available on-call during all hours when the Memphis VAMC clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Weekend hours are from 4:30 PM Friday until 8:00 AM Monday.
