The incumbent will perform specific duties within his/her approved scope of practice and must be able to give authoritive views and opinions on subjects in their field of medicine. This is a non surgical position entirely based in an outpient clinic, treing a diverse pient populion for general podiry and significant wound care management. Trement includes common conditions such as bunions, corns and calluses, and ingrown toenails. Staff Medical Podirists perform office-based procedures and generally work a set 40-hour per week schedule. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing podiric services in an outpient clinic, services include the diagnosis/trement/management of podiric medical disorders and conditions. Diagnosing and treing a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, from routine foot care to more complex procedures. Performing clinical review, triage, and management of podiric consults. Managing podiric conditions, taking into considerion both medical and psychological aspects of pient care. Actively involved in the teaching of trainees including residents, medical students, and others, when approprie. Completing clinical charting and documention appropriely and in a timely manner. Supporting health promotion and disease prevention activities. Educion:
Degree as a doctor of podiric medicine, or its equivalent resulting from a course of educion in podiric medicine and surgery. The degree must have been obtained from a school of podiric medicine approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Approved schools are United Stes schools of podiric medicine approved by the Council on Podiry Educion of the American Podiry Associion in the year in which the degree was granted.
License:
Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice Podiry in a Ste, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United Stes or in the District of Columbia.
Residency:
Completed, or currently completing, residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certificion. VA Podirists involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty stus.
Approved residencies are:
Those approved by the accrediting bodies for gradue medical educion, the Council on Podiric Medical Educion, in the list published for the year the residency was completed, or Other residencies and training experiences, or their equivalents, which the local medical review board determines to have provided an applicant with approprie professional training.
English Language Proficiency:
In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d), no person shall serve in direct pient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.

Staff Podirist Surgical:
Should be board qualified or board certified by a Council on Podiric Medical Educion certificion board, or other equivalent certificion to grant surgical privileges. Must possess experience to perform duties as a podirist and surgeon, and have completed an accredited residency, and/or possess experience to perform general and surgical duties.
Preferred Experience:
