Full-Time Job Summary:

Wellstar Health System is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Podiatrist to join our dynamic team at our Acworth location. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional surgical and non-surgical care for patients with foot and ankle conditions. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a comprehensive, patient-focused healthcare system and serve a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive podiatric evaluations and assessments for patients with foot and ankle conditions. Conduct surgical procedures for various podiatric issues, including deformities, trauma, and diabetic-related conditions. Provide post-operative care, including follow-up appointments and wound care. Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers within the Wellstar Health System to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Educate patients on preventive care and wellness strategies to maintain foot and ankle health. Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education. Maintain detailed patient records in compliance with hospital policies and legal requirements. Stay up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques, treatment modalities, and advancements in podiatric care.

Qualifications:

Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited school of podiatry. Board certification or eligibility in Podiatric Surgery (ABPM or ABFAS). Active and unrestricted Georgia state license (or eligibility for licensure). Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in surgical podiatry preferred, but new graduates with strong surgical training are encouraged to apply. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patient-centered care. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex patient cases.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Fellowship training in podiatric surgery or specialized areas such as diabetic foot care or reconstructive surgery. Experience working within a large healthcare system. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in surgical podiatry.
