- Military OneSource is a comprehensive support service provided bythe U.S. Department of Defense. It’s designed to offer a wide rangeof resources and confidential help to service members and theirfamilies.
- This role will be responsible for providing behavioralhealth/non-medica, short-term, solution focused consultationdirectly to service and family members. Services are providedvirtually (phone, video, chat). Services include brief counselingand consultation, action planning, referral to resources (assuringlinkage as appropriate) and follow up as indicated.
- The operating hours will be 5:00am to 9:00pm Pacific Time, sevendays a week. Morning, afternoon and evening shifts available,weekend days may be required.
- Schedules are full time, 5 days aweek for 8 hour shifts.
- If you are licensed in California, you will have the flexibility towork remotely
- as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide appropriate type of service based on member’s presentation,clinical history and needs and accurately differentiate between NMCand Military medical services Formulate accurate description of member’s clinical presentation intheir individual clinical records and maintaining appropriaterecords, case notes, forms and reports as well as databaseentries Maintain appropriate confidentiality according to DoD standards Manage duty to warn and restricted reporting situations accordingto Department of Defense (DoD) protocol Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, and trainingopportunities•You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in anenvironment that will challenge you and give you clear direction onwhat it takes to succeed in your role as well as providedevelopment for other roles you may be interested in.

RequiredQualifications:
- Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, marriage/family therapyor counseling or related mental health field Current, valid, unrestricted counseling license/certification inCalifornia, which grants the authority to provide counselingservices as an independent practitioner in their respective fields,such as
LP, MFT, LCSW, LPCC
2+ years of experience, post-licensure, that demonstrates acquiredknowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciencesequivalent to a social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy,or counseling major Experience using various computer applications and move throughcomputer screens while talking with members Demonstrated ability to build rapport, assess and address risk, anddevelop goals with service members and their families in atelephonic, video or digital modality Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally and geographicallydiverse population Demonstrated ability to address a variety of problems and issues aspresented by callers Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and creatively with otherprofessional team members Proven solid written, verbal and interpersonal skills

- Veteran/military retiree, wounded warrior, and/or militaryspouse Experience working with and/or for military communities Employee assistance program (EAP) experience 1+ years of experience performing Risk Assessments with adults 1+ years of experience performing short term / solution focusedtherapy with adults
- Please note, this contract requires the following: For assignments in the 50 states, counselors shall be licensed orcertified in the state in which the client is receiving services
- Multi state licensure preferred Must meet the security requirements identified in Section 5.
7bullet a All non-medical counseling network providers shall be licensed,certified, and properly credentialed to perform this requirementand be compliant with the commercial industry accepted standardsfor the performance of EAP programs and non-medical counselingprogram guidance and scope requirements Must display knowledge and understanding of the military lifestyleand culture Counselors shall adhere to commercial and professional standards ofpractice set forth by Federal, state, and local laws, as well asrelevant DoD/Military Branch of Service and Component policies(Attachments 25, Reference 38) Credentialing must be completed for all Military OneSourcenon-medical counselors, who MUST BE licensed in the State orterritory (excluding Guam) in which the participant is receivingthe services. If the participant is receiving telephonic or onlinecounseling while located OCONUS (excluding Alaska, Hawaii and USterritories), the Military OneSource counselor may be licensed inany state Non-medical counselors are mandated reporters of situations thatinclude harm to self or others, domestic violence, child abuse orneglect, violence against any person, and any present or futureillegal activity. Non-medical counseling provides support for common military-relatedstressors to prevent the development or exacerbation of mentalhealth conditions that may detract from military and familyreadiness Demonstrated counseling competence preceding their agreement toperform under the Military OneSource contract.
