Our department is committed to continuous improvement in patient care, education, research, and service. Ways the position contributes to our mission include: Provide consultation, education, assessment, and brief interventions for a wide variety of psychological and behavioral health concerns in the context of our teaching-based Family Medicine clinic Develop and evaluate clinical programs to address targeted, high-risk populations with chronic medical conditions Assist with the ongoing development and evaluation of the behavioral science curriculum of our educational programs Supervise, teach, and evaluate learners with regard to such topics and skills as communication, motivational interviewing and other methods of behavior change, resilience, and dynamics of high-functioning teams Seek grant funding to develop behavioral-health-related department initiatives Work with UAB faculty inside and outside of the department to pursue scholarly activity in areas such as population health, lifestyle medicine, and leadership in medicine Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology required. Consideration will be given to a current Alabama licensed or license-eligible Psychologist by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology. If eligible to sit for licensing exam, individual must be licensed within one (1) year of hire date. Position is a full-time, twelve-month faculty position. Position is open rank and open tenure.
