MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification, Education Specialist Degree with an endorsement in School Psychology Three years or more experience preferred Experience in school level counseling, crisis intervention strategies, and psychological assessments Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides individual and group counseling to students to discuss specific academic, social, or emotional issues Maintains HIPPA-compliant appropriate documentation for counseling caseload Collaborates with pediatricians, mental health therapists, mental health liaison, and social workers regarding student performance Counsels students and staff, as needed, in response to crises impacting the school community Assists with conducting evaluations for students in the referral/reevaluation process, when needed Maintains current knowledge of comprehensive Special Education procedures and disability areas Adhere to established timelines (district, state, and federal) Maintains testing and supply inventory Performs other job associated duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator.
