Job Description
Category Schools – School Psychologist Job Type Contract A Middle School in Springfield, MA, is seeking a qualified School Psychologist for a contract position lasting the entire school year. This role offers the opportunity to support students’ academic, emotional, and behavioral development within a dynamic educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students’ learning needs and challenges Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Provide counseling and intervention services to address behavioral and emotional concerns Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student support strategies Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all relevant legal and ethical guidelines
Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist Experience working with middle school-aged children preferred Strong understanding of assessment tools, intervention strategies, and special education laws Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and staff Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
